Entertainment Weekly named Chelsea Handler as one of 10 breakout stars of 2008!

November 4, 2008 (New York) – Out
magazine’s December/January special double issue takes on an Old
Hollywood theme to pay tribute to 100 actors, musicians, writers,
fashion designers, politicians and social figures who have made
significant strides in the gay community in 2008. To mark the issue’s
release, Out Editor in Chief Aaron Hicklin, along with Bristol

Chelsea

will host the night’s ceremony. This year’s live performances include a
glam, disco, funk reunion of Patti LaBelle, Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash

The event’s 1500+ guest list includes industry elite
from across the media and advertising industry, along with tastemakers
from the national gay community and Out100 honorees.

The Out100 event, presented by
Bristol Myers-Squibb, offers guests the opportunity to get involved in
the Light to Unite: World AIDS Day campaign. Guests can participate by
lighting a virtual candle on the Bristol-Myers Squibb website and
making a donation to the National AIDS Fund to help support the fight
against HIV/AIDS in the U.S.

Additionally, the night launches
a national liquidity fund-raising program partnership between Out and
Levi’s, with proceeds from the event’s silent auction going to The
Hetrick-Martin Institute. Guests will also be welcomed into the HSBC

Comedienne Chelsea Handler will be crowned “Queen of the Carnaval” along with Chuy who will be crowned “Little King of the Carnaval” at the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval set for Friday, October 31, 2008 between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood.

The Coronation of the Queen and King of the Carnaval will begin at 9 p.m. on the “Bat Stage.” The honorary title of “Queen of the Carnaval” and “King of the Carnaval” is a highlight at the Carnaval, with the coronation taking place in front of more than 250,000 anticipated revelers this year.

Chelsea Lately, E! Entertainment Television’s late-night comedy talk show featuring comedienne and best-selling author Chelsea Handler, will continue with new episodes through 2009, officials said Thursday.

Chelsea Lately, which debuted in July 2007, airs weeknights at 11:30 p.m. Chelsea Lately continues to show significant growth, including a household ratings gain of 21% in third quarter from its performance a year ago. The strongest demo for the show is women 18 to 34.

The half-hour show offers an irreverent look at entertainment news and celebrity culture. A roundtable of guests join Handler each show to discuss top breaking-news stories, celebrity updates and other hot topics of the day.

Chelsea Lately also features one-on-one celebrity interviews and comedic field packages. Upcoming guests include T.I., Lance Bass, Ali Landry, Jenny McCarthy, Sean William Scott, Amy Sedaris and Tom Bergeron.

Late-night television viewers are falling in love with the hysterical, uninhibited woman we have come to know and admire: Chelsea Handler. With a successful career in comedy already under her belt, and two books (one set out to be published this year) “My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands” and “Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea,” she has certainly given late-night television kings Conan O’Brien and Stephen Colbert a run for their money. As the only female in late night television with her successful show “Chelsea Lately” on E!, Chelsea Handler is more than making a name for herself.
